Our story
Bent Iron Brewing Co. was an idea that came together by the founders Peter Brittain, Jon Kanuck, and Dave Sass, over firepits and cold beers in 2020. The three founders then brought their idea to life when they brought on Dave Ascione to take on the role of Head Brewer in 2023. The brewery doors opened to the public as Hamilton Township, New Jersey's first brewery in July 2024.

Dave Sass
FOUNDER & OWNER
Dave's go to is a seasonal coffee stout that's black in the glass, has a balance of bitter from roasted coffee and sweet from the malt, creamy and complex. When Dave isn't sipping his seasonal stout he's leading the team as Senior VP & counsel of a renewable energy company or serving as captain of his boat during a LBI sunset cruise.

Peter Brittain
FOUNDER & OWNER
In addition to Peter's enthusiasm for enjoying a clean, crushable and hop forward IPA while soaking up the outdoors, he runs Coast Land Development, a family owned construction company. In addition, Peter is always trying to find his way onto the slopes of Vermont and Montana.

Jon Kanuck
FOUNDER & OWNER
The search for a hazy IPA with just enough cloud cover to make him ponder what lies behind the glass, matches Jon's excitement for creating new beer and adding new beer at Bent Iron Brewing Co. Jon's passion for holding court as a partner in a NYC law firm can be matched with his love of enjoying a good beer combined with good tunes.

HEAD BREWER
"Dave the Brewer" is Bent Iron's brewing wizard. As a graduate of an aeronautical university, Dave feels right at home understanding the science behind what's in your glass. When Dave's not climbing into the Brew House he’s frequenting local climbing clubs and cheering on the Packers.
